Oil prices?
Is there a reason why our cars,planes and other stuff still has to run on fossil fuels ??
We have mapped the human genome...we have put a man on the moon...we have seen galaxies beyond our own...
even a hearth transplant is a routine operation these days.
But for some reason we stil use internal combustion engines...are we not smart enough to find another alternative ??
Solar , Hydrogine and electric ....all these options exist already for years .
But where can i buy a car with a fuel cell ???
It is nothing else but politics ...goverments earn to much with petroleum based products...and thats not even including
the infuence of the Saoudi Arabic countries.
I firmly believe that we are kept stupid ...all in favour of the almighty dollar.
There are plenty of allternatives ....even Bio-Diesel ....but where do i find a Bio-Diesel fuel pump???
Nowhere ....why ...the gouverment does not have a law on how to get taxes on a biological produced fuel.
The fact that you can use old , used vegetable oil in your old diesel car ....is being discouraged with the fables
that it wil ruin your engine.
Dont believe all they say...
We will get the alternatives ....as soon as we depleted all natural oil supplies ...and the rich are richer ...not sooner!!!
Thats why fuel prices are going up ...thats why countries ingnore the fact that the prices kept high...
Its controversial ....but true

You can find bio-diesel pumps in California I think, other than that, good luck in finding one. There is one huge problem with bio-diesel, however,
and that is that it requires tonnes of oil-seed rape to be planted in favour of other crops, such as corn and wheat that are needed to feed people!

And I think its healthy to keep peoples opinions and talk about more than FS
I have a large issue with us using coconuts, or sugarcane etc for fuels...
For one we can not even manage poverty, so what dare gives us the right to use foods in our "choice" items, starving people need these
foods as a necessity to live

I have no problem with this thread; its nice to have something like this to post on.
When it comes to energy, we should be aggressively developing ALL energy sources, including coal, oil, nuclear, wind, solar, etc. This will keep
prices down and inflation in check. No one energy source should have preference over the other right now. But yes, we do need to put an end to use
of fossil fuels eventually, although its too hard of a goal to pursue all at once. I do wish the U.S. was pursuing renewable energy more
aggressively; compared to Europe, we're far behind the curve.

Of course political correctness is just another form of limiting free speech. I'm not saying we should go around saying things to hurt
people but the political correctness has gone WAY TOO far by removing certain words from text books and other educational material in
the US as to not "potentially" hurt any feelings or offend anyone. Personally I despise anything that limits/infringes on our Constitiutional
rights.

What ever happened to SARS or Bird Flu? Wasnt that supposed to wipe out half the worlds population? What happened there? Oh thats right... nothing....
