Another exciting flight today - Anastasios - 25-04-2008 Hi everybody, today I had a flight from Amsterdam to Manchester. We departed on time and a few minutes after take-off the captain called the purser with the information that we had some technical problems and we were going to return to Amsterdam. During the approach again we noticed some air pressure problems (pain in the ears) and that the plane made some strange movements. However, the captain told us and the pax that we were going to make a normal landing. Eventually we switched to another airplane and safely departed for Manchester. Before we departed the captain informed us about the problems. We experienced 'multiple aerontical problems'. (or something like that), We had oxygen problems, air pressure problems, electrical failures and hydraulic problems. The instruments in the cockpit were giving wrong information. They flew the plane back to Amsterdam manually and by using the backup instruments. As the weather was good, it was daylight and there were no controlling or engine problems, there hasn't been any danger for us. Still pretty exciting though... Anastasios. I will try to get one soon and give you some situations. But you can be amazed about how much can happen before it really becomes dangerous. For this flight, the maintenance guy told us that if we would have continued the flight, we would have experienced a slow decompression for 99% sure and the oxygen masks would have dropped. Fortunately this didn´t happen, as the pax were already pretty nervous ( lot's of pax on holiday). Anastasios.
