Items will not run after being downloaded? - Joshuah A. Wetzel - 25-08-2006

Hey everyone,

I am having some trouble with my computer. I didn't know where to post this, so this is kind of "off the subject." Anyways, after I download
stuff to my computer, it will not run! It doesn't matter what I download. For example: let's say I want to download "Google Earth" for
instance. It will come up with a pop-up saying "Are you sure you would like to download this file..." and everything like that. I will click yes,
and it will commence it's downloading process. After it has finished, there will be another pop-up saying "Do you wish to run this file?" I
will click yes again, and nothing happens! It's like I never downloaded it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can you run the stuff manually?

I.e. go to your download folder and run the exe files.

No. As I said before, when clicking on the download icon, it comes up with a pop-up and asks "Do you wish to run or save this file?" I will
click save, and it will start downloading. After it's done, I will go into the folder that I saved it in, and it's not there! Huh

What antivirus software are you running? Can you disable it for a sec and try downloading something again?

I am using Microsoft Internet Explorer. The antivirus software i currently have is AVG Free Addition. I will try disabling it and report back.
