Serving drinks and food - CDR - 05-11-2005

On some short flights like one hour or less I usually serve drinks when aim about to level off.
Some times I get gig ed for serving drinks to late.
My question is how early on a flight can I serve drinks and can I serves food rite after serving drinks or do I have to wait a while ?
Thanks

I usually start serving right after 18.000 and food and drinks at the same time.

I just have that service on automatic.

I dont like it on automatic because I dont want them to start serving drinks or food when I am starting to starting desending... but thats just
my two cents...

soon as my climb rate is down to 2000fpm , when the seatbelt sign comes off, i serve. somewhere above FL250.. i dont even bother
serving anything on flights under an hour. pax dont seem to mind.

Re: Serving drinks and food - Anastasios - 06-11-2005

For me it depends on the flight and the weather. If it is a short flight and weather is calm, I start serving drinks at 8,000 ft, maybe FL100.
I serve food some minutes later, at FL150 or so.

I always wait with the seatbelt sign, ofcourse this also depends on the weather Smile
