destination PANC problem - jon - 06-03-2006

I've flown to PANC (Anchorage, AK) twice, as scheduled, only to be told I've failed to land at my destination. the first time i encountered it, i
figured I'd been drinking too much, or messing with the stewardess (oh, sorry. flight attendant) and just got lost. but, the second time i
paid particular attention - and it still said i was lost. can someone try a hop into PANC and tell me if it's me, or is something's bent.

Try unloading your aircraft at a gate. Sometimes if you unload on the runway or taxi way, it won't register. If that's what you're doing, try unload
on the runway, because the gates sometimes don't register either. I'll do a quick flight from PAMR-PANC to find out. I live in Anchorage and I very
commonly fly out of PANC in FS and havn't had a problem with it though. Hopefully you can sort it out.

My flight from Merril went fine. It was "too short" but it went fine, It registered that I landed at PANC - Ted Stevens Anchorage Int.

Next time, (I don't know if this works for you but it did for me) Land via Rnwy 14 and end the flight on the runway. I also know for a fact that when
you land on 6L / 24R and end the flight there, that should also work.

Cheers and Happy flyin'

what destination did you reach on your final log?
could it be a heliport?
I didnt have any problems at PANC since now (anyhow only 2 landings there yet...).

Well: we're sure going to find out more about PANC as it's tonight's FSP World Tour destination airport! Wink

Thanks for the input. I did some messing around with my AFCAD and fixed the problem. Although, I'm not sure exactly how. I was using
a third party AFCAD file of PANC. No matter where I parked at PANC, FSP was saying I was at LHD (next door). I deleted the third-party
PANC and used FS9 default PANC - presto - problem solved. Now I can be where I really wanted to be when I get there. it's no wonder
my wife thinks I'm an idiot.
