GPS Question.... - Air France - 09-02-2006

Is there a way to know how long there is left i your flight if its not DIRECT GPS. If its waypoint to waypoint???

Re: GPS Question.... - JayKae - 09-02-2006

Well if your plane has a CDMU/FMC there is a button called PROG ( or similar ) press that and in the better renditions of a CDMU/FMC it
will tell you distance/time done and distance/time left

Re: GPS Question.... - Air France - 09-02-2006

Am talking with just a GPS

Re: GPS Question.... - JayKae - 09-02-2006

I don't know too much about GPS but looking at the standard FS9 GPS it says ETE in the bottom of your screen when you have the GPS
up. Is that what you are after?

Re: GPS Question.... - Air France - 09-02-2006

Re: GPS Question.... - JayKae - 09-02-2006

Hmmm I do not think that is possible with GPS, at least I do not know of it

Re: GPS Question.... - poden - 09-02-2006

Well, the best you can do is call up your kneeboard and add the projected time up between all the waypoints remaining. This might not be all that
accurate, but it would give a general estimate.

How about doing it this way...

Distance / Speed = Time.

i.e. 1000 nm / 500 kts = 2:00.

lol
The funny thing is that you are perfectly right!
At least any MFC or whatever do it right this way! Top
Though there is another question - how can you get the distance remaining without adding all remaining legs? Wonder
I cant see it in GPS... Huh

Re: GPS Question.... - omarza - 10-02-2006

Dont know ig i misunderstand but isnt it under the "Active Flight Plan" page in the right hand column... think its the 3rd or 4th button on the bottom
labelled something like "FPL" that will display that page for you.

Re: GPS Question.... - Air France - 11-02-2006

yes but it wont tell you have much time till u get to your destination

Re: GPS Question.... - CowlFlapsOpen - 11-02-2006

Eric Olsen beat me to it! Distance / Speed = Time. You do make a flight plan with ETE for each leg don't you?
