Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - SaVas - 25-01-2006 We have seen favorite aircraft for both the sim and real world, however I searched but didnt find any threads on favorite sceneries, and I am always looking for a very detailed airport either freeware or payware for either GA or heavies Most of my favs are payware, but Im looking for what others find to be great sceneries so I can broaden my horizons. My favs: FLYTAMPA Seattle, Chicago-Midway, for larger airports, Flight Scenery Rhode Island, and the freeware Boston-Logan Version 2 Georender Chelan Muni, Emma Field, Orcas Island and CanUK's various smaller GA canadian airports Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - Nasder - 25-01-2006 I really enjoy the aerosoft scandinavian airports 2 airport ESSA, Arlanda, Sweden, very nice indeed in my opinion. But my favorite is by far Fly tampa's KMDW (the only fly tampa I own), along with ultimate terrain and BEV it's a real beauty both on approach and while taxi. Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - Airliner - 25-01-2006 I posted these somewhere else but, oh well. ![]() They're all freeware: BostonV2 - the BEST! LGA2004 DCA2002 CLE2005 BWI - something (don't recall the name, but it's about 29MB) I also have KIAD, KMHT and a bunch of small airports which are pretty good. I actually have abou 50 freeware airports but I don't have the original names so it's useless to list them. Do a search of Avsim.com or FlightSim.com. There's some really good freeware sceneries out there. Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - DBE - 25-01-2006 SaVas: are you more into US locations or is anywhere good? Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - SaVas - 25-01-2006 Quote:DBE wrote: If its for other than NA or SA / Caribbean, and its payware it has to be REALLY good, jaw dropping fantastico. If its freeware, anywhere is fine. I have the latest USSS for Russia which is also really good freeware. Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - eddy - 25-01-2006 One of the best payware sceneries out there right now is Mega Airport Frankfurt from Aerosoft. It has recently been reviewed by Avsim, check it out. I don´t own any Fly Tampas, so can´t compare it. But the level of detail you get and the surroundings (with highway traffic including rushhour traffic) is amazing. And it even runs fine on my old hardware, but I don´t mind too much about dropping FPS if the scenery is good. It comes with the city of amsterdam too but you might want to disable that because it might destroye framerates ![]() Not writing this by the way out of patriotic reasons or so, i just think it's one of the best airport addons i ever saw ![]() Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - pbn - 25-01-2006 ISD project, freeware Italian airports. They are quite detailed and still very FPS friendly. Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - samiranks - 27-01-2006 hey AIRLINER, did you use my afcad update for KDCA on http://www.flightsim.com I think i did pretty well with it Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - vaccaro - 28-01-2006 Some of Turkish airports freeware can be found at http://www.sanalpilot.com go to forum pages and you'll see their links. I also like Ver Walter Gulfan's airports for Philippines. Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - Dutch64 - 04-02-2006 Savas, maybe you've read the other thread of the community flight, best freeware airport I've ever seen is Jakarta, WIII. You can download it from flightsim.com. Files called wiii.zip and wiii01.zip. Truely amazing addon... Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - Airliner - 25-03-2006 Quote:samiranks wrote: Not sure - I might have. ![]() DCA was one of the pains to check on, though, as I couldn't find a decent airport gate assignment map. So, when the wifey and I were in DC last year, we took a duck tour on the Potomac and I was scoping out the ramp from the river! :D Of course, we had to go inside after. That was a fun trip. We drove and stopped at DCA, BWI, EWR, LGA, PHL, plus our hotel was just north of IAD. And of course, the Air and Space museum (both locations) was a must! I feel a tangent happening here... DOH! Re: Your favorite sceneries GA and Large airports - DV0185 - 26-03-2006 Try Vista Australis: Colours of the Great South Land. Very innovative and quite pleasing to the eye. No (or minimal) impact on framerates. And its free!!! http://vistaoz.org/ |
