well i just got nvidia 7800 pcie today and came home, call hp, and now finding out i dont have the right power supply for the card i need
400w minimun
oh well more money got to upgrade. I think im carrying a 300w right now....

I use the Antec Neo Power480 to power 2 7800 cards. With its interchangable cable system, it is a very slick power supply. I never thought I would
think a power supply was cool until I got this one.

I had a 350W... didn't work.. I just bought a 470W and I'm up and running!
I'm doing my final installations now...
Soon I will install my drivers for joystick and things, FS2004 and all addons. Then I will fly with my new machine! :D

I use either fraps, or press "printscreen" then start my imageeditor (photoshop), and paste it in.

or ue printscreen with irfanview at http://www.irfanview.com and then host it at http://www.imageshack.us

sorry but this 7800 didnt work for me at all. took out of my computer after second purchased. Returned the first one because it was giving
problem. Installed the second one it did work. However i was flying from kdtw to kmdw using level-d and got frames at about 06fps my
frames using imaginescenery addon for kdtw and flytampa for kmdw usually hit at about 25fps also using activesky v5 it was snowing
and i usually have everything max with clouds at about 60% 3d. Using the new card not happening. I think ill stick with my ati x700 pcie
maybe until i can find the x850 pcie ati

I got around 15-25fps at ENBR (using Scandinavian Airports 2 from aerosoft and Ultimate Traffic 2 @ 50%, Active sky v5 with snow at the time)
Everything maxed except for dynamic scenery.
What computer do you have, beside the GPU? Could it be that your CPU is a bottleneck? Maybe your ram ain't up to it?

1024 DDR 400Mhz RAM
And I am loving it! Really great Framerate compared to my older rig

i have pent4 hp hyperthread 520 7200rpm 2gigs memory (4 512's) so i dont know what the issue is. 200gigs hard drive plus external of
160gigs

1. Did you clean out your old ati drivers before installing the nvidia card? http://www.drivercleaner.net/
2. Did you update the nvidia drivers?
3. Did you delete your fs9.cfg file?
All these things could be causing the slowdowns. Don't make sudden decisions. The 7800 is an awesome card!

yes yes yes yes.... I did hear that its a good card. however why spend 399.00 usd for a card that i dont see too much of a difference on
from my x700 ati ? To me its not worth it. I would prefer to add 300.00usd more and just get me a 27in monitor...

It must be another problem then. It shouldn't be running that slow with that card. If it does that with the 7800, then most likely the X1800 will be
even slower.

probably so. I wouldnt get the 1800 either i would probably do the x850 pcie first before x1800... i heard good reviews on the x850
