altitudes - jon - 26-11-2005 when using the flight planner if FS9, FS appears to assign really low altitudes. can someone provide me with a range of altitudes for distance ranges? thanks Re: altitudes - Sovek - 26-11-2005 it depends on your plane, if its a short hop I will grab a Baron or Caravan and cruise at about 7,000-8,000 ft, if its a 300+ mile trip I will prolly cruise right around its peak like around 30,000-38,000 Re: altitudes - SWAFO - 26-11-2005 Altitudes vary based on MANY factors. To list them all here wouldn't be logical. If flying a jetliner, use cruising altitudes between FL180 and FL370 (as a rule of thumb). Some aircraft can go higher (i.e. 747), while some max out around that level. |
