Re: good software to have - Jetflyer - 26-11-2005 Captain Sim Boeing 727 Professional LAGO FS Enhancer PMDG 73ng Post Edited ( 11-26-05 00:49 ) Re: good software to have - timcclayton - 26-11-2005 Definitely Traffic 2005 - excellent product. Also for global mesh, FS Global Special Edition is excellent too. UK2000 scenery as already mentioned if you are into English/Welsh airports. I also enjoyed FS Flight Ventures by Abacus software Re: good software to have - samiranks - 26-11-2005 you like traffic 2005? tim oh that add on didnt work for me.. stuck with ultimate traffic Re: good software to have - timcclayton - 26-11-2005 Actually I found Ultimate Traffic to be pants - it didn't include airlines that fly from my local airport, that Traffic Board gimic was totally non-functional (something their tech support actually admitted to me!), plus you had to do all your own compiling and updating etc. So I got rid of it and bought Traffic 2004 (at the time) and it ran like a dream (for £10 less as well) and even those 2 little local airlines were included! I have since migrated to 2005 and it is better than ever. But you said you couldn't get it working - in what way? Maybe I can help...??? Re: good software to have - samiranks - 26-11-2005 well it works but i guess since im in the USA it really dont know about the airports abroad to know what im missing. I must say what i do like about traffic-2005 is the helicopters in ai and military and also the ga i love but i guess i didnt like the robotic voice in ai smooth at all for one and i dont like the fact american airlines is not the correct paint scheme i understand the legalities, but i guess if i can just change my textures like i did for ultimate that would be good. like i change almost all of my textures to ai aadvark or ifdg or projectopensky.. so if you can tell me how to do that in traffic-2005 maybe that would be good and can that be done easily? Re: good software to have - Jetsim - 26-11-2005 probably the addictive vc10.They are loads of customer comments there http://www.vc10.com/ http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/notams04/abac1117.htm ![]() Re: good software to have - JayKae - 26-11-2005 I would like to refer you to a list that took me about a month to compile ![]() http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=12554 Re: good software to have - timcclayton - 26-11-2005 Well, firstly, you need to get yourself a GA aircraft, get out there and do a round-the-world trip, and with FSPassengers it is even better than just doing it on your own for a bit of fun. I will never forget scenes like coming in to the Faroe Islands airport at sunset with hills around the runway, or desperately hoping that I'd reach Goose Bay airport from Greenland as I was rapidly running out of fuel! It is absolutely the best thing I have ever done in FS. Trying to cross the Himalaya in a 172 was fun as well. ![]() ![]() I don't use AISmooth so can't comment on that one unfortunately, but the American Airlines issue, as you rightly say, is legally out of Traffic 2005's hands. If an airline wants to be childish, then there is not much that can be done about it. The following link: http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/howto/aaai.htm is an article on Flightsim.com that explains how to change the logo to the real one - hope it helps you. Traffic 2005 really is the better package of the two, you just install it and go - no compiling, no buying extra flight plans etc... Re: good software to have - Dutch64 - 26-11-2005 Since this topic is about discussing the different addons i would like to mention some of my findings too about traffic programs. I have both UT and T2005 (and project AI). My main problem with Traffic 2005 is that it's not very good in depicting real world schedules. I found too often certain airlines at airports which didn't belong there at all. You will find at their website that their program is mainly focused on populating airports and it doesn't have to be like the real thing. Depending on what you like that can be great of course but UT gives me the right airlines at the right times at the right airports (with some minor flaws too of course) and i like that better. So now I'm using UT again, i like it a lot. (Project AI is great too but requires a lot more work to get it up and running to your likings but if you like to do so it's a wonderful program too) Furthermore, most of the features of Traffic 2005 are available as freeware too, like the aismooth and taxispeed etc. |
