FSUIPC - SWAFO - 23-08-2005

I've got a problem on my hands. I'd like to upgrade to the latest version of FSUIPC (3.48), however anytime I try I can't use the electronics
properly in my PMDG 737. I currently have FSUIPC 3.40 installed, and have NO problems with it at all. However if I upgrade to 3.48, or
3.47 I simply can't get the electronics (MFD's namely... it seems like all the warning lights come on) to work in my plane! I've checked all
the battery options, etc. and there are no issues. The bottom line is that I used the same settings in 3.40, and with any updated version it
doesn't work! I need the newer FSUIPC to use some programs. Any recommendations? By the way, I've got a registered version.

Also, it seems that the ground power available light above the ground power switch simply does not light up. The switch moves, however
it stays in the position I move it to (doesn't spring load to center), and doesn't power any of the generators. APU or engines don't provide
power either.

Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this.

Thanks in advance.

Re: FSUIPC - 737-700 Next Generation Pilot - 23-08-2005

Well from a fellow PMDG 737 pilot i dont know how 2 fix this. I dont know what FSUIPC is i never fidled with it and never upgraded it and i
am still flying my 737-700 perfictly! So unles u really want FSUIPC upgraded dont upgrade it. And if this is a known issue for PMDG i think
u should contact their support!

Re: FSUIPC - tbird - 23-08-2005

Hi

This might help you, after you have installed the 3.48 version, then try to delete the FSUPIC.ini so it will generate a new .ini file when you
are starting up FS2004 again. This should solve your problems.
Oh..and make a backup of your existing FSUPIC.ini file

How about just renaming it then? Smile

Well...why yeah, didn't even cross my mind...lol NOT
I've always deleted the .ini file because thats always been my way of doing it.

Sounds good. I'll try renaming the FSUIPC.ini file (that's my way of doing it), and see if it clears the issue up. I'll let you guys know!
Thanks for the help.

Re: FSUIPC - SWAFO - 24-08-2005

Still no luck! I'm beginning to think that the PMDG 737 (at least the way I installed it) doesn't want to work with any version of FSUIPC
above 3.40. I guess I'm stuck with 3.40 till I find a fix!

Re: FSUIPC - tbird - 24-08-2005

Well that sounds really strange. hmm..could it be a corrupt file or something?. Maybe worth a try to download again and see if that gonna
help.

If that is really the case there would have to be at least some threads about this issue in the PMDG support forum.

Re: FSUIPC - olseric - 24-08-2005

Brad,

First off, let me get this out. FSUIPC is a great add-on, but it's a bigger PIA than it's worth IMHO. I wish MS would come up with a FREE
replacement.

Anyway, onto your problem.....

If you have a registered copy of FSUIPC, make sure that your information is put in correctly and the program is unlocked.

If you have an unregistered copy of FSUIPC, make sure that any access keys given to you by the author of your panel are in place. The
key should be in the readme file that came with the panel if one existed. If you're not sure if it installed or not, you can either look at the
registration entires for FSUIPC by looking in your modules folder (can't remember which file they are saved it, but it's in something called
FSUPIC.???) or just add it again.

If no avail, check the FSUIPC log file. It will be in your modules folder and see if there is any indication of an error generated from your
gauges. I suspect you'll find something there indicating that the gauges aren't registered for use with an unregistered copy or some crap
like that (if either of the two above don't work). If this is the case and there's no key with the program, my guess would be that somewhere
between the new version and the one you have, these offset read/writes were disabled.

Keep us posted on what you find out.

Re: FSUIPC - SWAFO - 24-08-2005

My copy is registered and paid for via the Peter Dowson website. I don't see any problem there.

I assume by that you mean the log file?

Re: FSUIPC - SWAFO - 25-08-2005

Actually I meant there being a problem with it being an unregistered copy. I checked the log file... everything looked normal, a few module
loads (as normal), but no error generation.

Re: FSUIPC - olseric - 25-08-2005

Okay, you've managed to exhaust my brief knowledge of FSUPIC.

Next step...contact the panel designer. Smile

Re: FSUIPC - nem - 31-08-2005

Since I never saw a definite "I have FSUIPC 3.48 and the PMDG 737 running without problems" in this thread: just tested the mentioned combination - no problems.
Strange that it doesn't work for you, Brad... Huh
