Airliner Pilot v FsP - Samuel - 18-08-2005 I just wanted to know that if theres much difference between FsP and Airliner Pilot cause when i was reading the reveiws there didnt sound like much difference between the 2. So please can somebody post to tell me which is better. Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - JayKae - 18-08-2005 Well... they are two totally different programs but I will let the... normal.... buyers tell you what they think because I might get accused of being biased ![]() Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - ste9889 - 18-08-2005 airliner pilot doesnt add passengers like fsp so fsp is better as it add more to FS, and costs less ![]() Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - Tepic - 18-08-2005 I tried both demo's and plumped for FSP. Airliner Pilot has lots of nice polish, but it just didn't seem to give as much fun. I may buy AP later, after I have gone through my great big list. Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - Pierino - 18-08-2005 Compared to FsP AP is disappointing. All you get in AP is: - you get told, what flight you have to do - a simple career mode (the mode in FsP is much better!) - one or two additional graphics, but nothing in-flight (couldn't find those "lots of nice polish" though) - a Dash 8 (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) All you get in FsP is: - my post would be much too long, if I'd write everything down here. Try the demo (or read the documentation) and you'll love it. If you have too much money you could still buy AP. The combination of FsP and AP works great. But all you get from AP in this case is that you don't have to choose the flights yourself. My opinion is: Better spend the money for a new ac for example or one of the other addons that are discussed in this forum. Pierino Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - Samuel - 19-08-2005 Thanks guys Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - pegase - 19-08-2005 I just think about something stunning in FsP: it adds strong density to our flights although there is absolutely NO VISUAL stuff added, the more graphic part is the load dialog box. As Fruitfly 's brother would tell "Nothing moves". Everything is in the atmosphere and mind given by the responsability feeling. with the support of some background sounds. Tuning the altimeter, taking account of real weather in flight planning. Almost everything was already there but I did not useed it. Why ? no incidence in the result. The pivotal part of FsP is not adding new toys in our collection but the motivation to go farther and discover more with what we already have: Here go my main thanks to Fsp developpers and community. creating a mind status in which we always try to do it better. Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - eazy - 19-08-2005 Quote:Pierino wrote:I totally agree with Pierino. I unfortunately bought AP before FSP (fortunately I found a thread about FSP on their forum ![]() the beginning, but getting boring quite fast and I stopped using it after 2 weeks (while I still use FSP almost every day!). The difference to FSP is that AP generates flightplans (based on FSNAV, actually it selects them from a given set in a special directory). These plans depend on your career status and your regional home base. If for example your home base is in Germany you can only do flights from and to german airports at the beginning. Another drawback is that some flights (later on) are calculated that tight that in some cases (strong headwind) I was reaching the destination airport with the last drop of fuel. The main task of AP is to monitor route tracking but quite often you get penalties for not staying on course because FS-ATC vectors you off long before the last waypoints. This has been corrected in an update but still happens sometimes. Crash detection works as long as you're airborn but not on the ground. As Pierino said, AP is delivered with a "simplified" version of the PSS Dash 8 Q300, but you only get the FO panel and most of the system switches are disabled, only basic functions work. No FMC as well. With FSP I love to make up my own scenarios and my own flight plans, left alone all the outstanding features of FSP which Pégase mentioned, so personally I wouldn't recommend AP. Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - jboweruk - 19-08-2005 I have to agree, AP was very disappointing, whereas FSP wasn't, in fact it exceeded all my expectations of it and I'm having a ball. Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - SWAFO - 19-08-2005 IMHO, Airliner Pilot doesn't even compare to FSPassengers. FSP has so much more flexibility, it's in an entirely different league. Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - AeroJim - 20-08-2005 i disagree about one thing with AP, AP does give you a real time flight plan, with weather updates and also gives you liveries whereas, FSP does not, overall id rather fly with FSP, but the 2 systems almost seem vital now that i have both, i wouldn't fly one without the other to be honest. Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - studentpilot27 - 20-08-2005 I was looking at the add-ons on http://www.justflight.com I saw the :Next Generation 737 add on: The pics. looked great and so did the preview video. 747 ready for pushback looks great also. Does anybody know if its worth that extra dollar? Im guessing the goal is to make a realistic simulator. I never understood the fact of the matter. When you fly, taxi, or waiting at the runway waiting for clearence for takeoff. Why cant other traffic have a sound of engines revving up, reverse thrusters and etc. when you hear a plane pass you in real life from a cockpit or hearing the plane pulling up, leaving the runway, or passing you on final, when your stuck in traffic. Also Im guessing in real life on a 737 or any airbus or Boeing you can see the wing or maybe the engines from the pilot seat . Would these be a possibility in the future if you dont mind me asking. Thanks guys Re: Airliner Pilot v FsP - SWAFO - 20-08-2005 Quote:AeroJim wrote: I've seen copies of the AP flightplans... not really anything to brag about if you ask me. Sure, they're nice but they still don't give AP a leg up on FSP. I like creating my own flightplans (based on real world flights of course ![]() Glad you like it though. |
