VRInsight Flight Master Yoke II - Joeflyer - 02-03-2015

Ordered mine today. I should find out soon if it lives up to the hype:

My old Saitek yoke is about to be put out to pasture

Hey, Let me know if it is worth the $499. I might pick up one myself.
Thanks Joe

Darrin, I got this yoke today. Here's my review at Flightsim.com:

Cool ! I will consider getting one myself. It is amazing what this hobby can cost sometimes, but that is the love we have for it! I just added the CS550 Citation II into my
virtual hanger . Great model but the auto pilot was a little quirky. I just added a pop-up 2D panel from another aircraft to run auto turns t until
I sort it out . Thanks for the info Joe

Re: VRInsight Flight Master Yoke II - Joeflyer - 12-03-2015

I may have to make another revision to my Flightsim.com review...especially regarding VRInsight's customer service. I received only one email from
them and it had nothing to do with the binding in the yoke. It's not a bad binding or sticking feeling but I'm afraid it will get worse over time.
Their only suggestion was for me to adjust the dead zone in FSX lol WTF? For $500+ the yoke shaft should be smooth as silk when making small
corrections during flight. Maybe they applied too much powder coating on the shaft. I have no idea. At any rate, VRInsight doesn't get into any hurry
about responding to emails.

Re: VRInsight Flight Master Yoke II - darrinward777 - 12-03-2015

Ah yes, Here is the the aftermath of Microsoft dumping the FSX team.
Don't get me wrong I know without third party developers this hobby would have died out and there a a lot of very good ones out there ( THANK-YOU) Still it is a fine line
when the price is customer support and denial. Yet if you go on some forums to report a dislike in support( even if it is done with taste ) you will get big warnings and
threats of being banned along with other sacred cows telling you to be careful on what you post.( how dare I have a problem with their product)

They never seem to wonder if the person having issues has been doing this hobby forever. I was using flight simulator in the days of DOS long before windows came out. Everyone should have an opinion and be heard. I feel like I know you Joe. and if
you say there could be a problem then there very well may be one and if not... for $500, they need to explain it to your satisfaction. We all need to remind developers that
it is the community that keeps the bread and butter on their table too.

Keep us posted Joe

Re: VRInsight Flight Master Yoke II - Joeflyer - 13-03-2015

I finally got a response from VRInsight. What a joke. They are referring me to Flightsim.com for resolution. Wait a sec....Flightsim.com states that
any tech support goes through the manufacturer. Now the manufacturer is telling me to go through the reseller (Flightsim). Back and forth we go!
Since this is a slight hardware issue, VRInsight doesn't want to have anything to do with it? What a laugh. A call to Flightsim.com hasn't gone
anywhere yet. They haven't returned my call.

Wow!
I think you should put in a follow up review. Let people know what you are experiencing. I was going to purchase one, but now I think that ship has sailed.

Re: VRInsight Flight Master Yoke II - whiskey-zulu - 14-03-2015

I was looking for something to replace my old Saitek Yoke with, now the the HAT switches have died a death on it. From the reviews of the VRI Yoke,
I'll be sticking with Saitek...

Re: VRInsight Flight Master Yoke II - Joeflyer - 14-03-2015

Guys, don't get me wrong....the toggle and rocker switches all work great. I ended up mapping everything via FSUIPC since all of the functionality
works 100% better that way. The binding fore and aft from center of shaft is what gets me. As stated, it isn't affecting how the airplane flies but
there shouldn't be any binding at all. The killer would be in the customer service area. Haven't heard a peep out of Flightsim Pilot Shop since I
called them and opened a support ticket yesterday. Maybe they took the day off Hunappy Of course VRInsight hasn't responded to my last email either.
If there wasn't any binding at all, this yoke would be the cat's meow. Even in its current state, I wouldn't go back to a Saitek yoke. The yoke unit
is heavy enough that it doesn't need to be clamped to a desk. As a matter of fact, my desk is 22" wide in the middle and the yoke unit is 18 1/4" long
and almost 16" wide, so it almost takes up the middle portion of the desk.
I even had to map the hat switch via FSUIPC because I was noticing some erratic panning behavior by having FSX handle the hat switch function. It may
have had something to do with how it behaves with Track IR,too. At any rate, panning is smooth as silk now.

Joe, I know this is a new release but have you checked the internet for any other buyers have similar issues? Just curious

Since the yoke is quite new, I didn't find any other buyers with potential issues.

Re: VRInsight Flight Master Yoke II - darrinward777 - 15-03-2015

I hope you can get this sorted. I still don't understand why you were referred to flight pro shop for support of this hardware. On the lighter side of the news, I just purchased
the A2A C182 last night. What a great airplane! If you haven,t already got it, check out Froogles first impressions on youtube. . Needless to say I was up all night and I am
very happy with this bird.

Re: VRInsight Flight Master Yoke II - Joeflyer - 15-03-2015

Thanks, I do, too. I shall see tomorrow which company responds first...if at all.

I looked at the A2A 182 but went with Carenado's 182. It's just as nice of an airplane and a bit cheaper Smile Glad you like though. I hear good things
about A2A's products.

Joe,
Have gotten any support yet? It has been a few days
