FS9 with AS and GEPro and world terra mesh and all the other available addons is still my # 1.
I cant find a logical reason to use a software, which demands hardware that will be available only in a couple of years, to run with its full

It's seems the major upgrade in fsx is visual stuff. Hardware available these days is not powerful enough to make use of all the visual possibilities
in fsx. Fs9 with some of the mentioned addons will produce far better results than fsx will be ever able to do on today's hardware.
So, it's not crazy at all to say that fs9 is better.
The step from 2002 to 2004 was a huge one, from 2004 to fsx, well, almost nothing changed.

1. The hardware able to run this game will be out in the next few months. (maybe 6 at the most)
2. The jump from 2002 to 2004 is smaller than the jump between 2004 and FSX.
I cant wait to get it next week so I can play all the missions and see what some of the SDK's have to offer and look into doing some repaints with the
white versions of the aircraft. (After I fly a bit though
)

You can run the game already but not to it's full potential. The hardware to do so (all sliders max) will be available many years from now but then
the new release might be out already so what's the point of ms doing it like this?
I always enjoy new releases because of new improvements, new things etc. So far I didn't notice anything really new in fsx. In fs9 they introduced
dynamic weather, better atc etc. What is there in fsx? Maybe i'm missing something?
Good to see though that many people already writing patches for the default fsx to make it at least run a bit smoother (tells something about this
release also, that this is needed).
Ok, so then with most sliders to the left, you might have decent fps, then just imagine installing a new addon like a sophisticated plane or large
airport...
Why doesn't fsx make use of hardware like SLI, dual core procs etc in a much better way than it does now?
One day I will use fsx, but it won't be soon because so far fs9 with addons like GEPro, UT Europe, AS6 and RC4 look far better and runs way smoother
than fsx.

quarter1 of 2007 when VISTA and DX10 are available. There will be no comparison between FS9 and FSX in a matter of months. So go ahead and wait, but
it won't take long before the results are witnessed.

I didn't miss it, but that pic doesn't show much of autogen, nor ai traffic and the ground textures look terrible.
Read everywhere and you will find people with better hardware and still having trouble.
However, in case you missed it, the guys of the development team of fsx say with current hardware forget about flying it maxed out. Maybe, maybe in
some years from now.
I really do regret ms' decision to not fully support SLI and/or dual cores better. I don't mind that the sim cannot yet been played fully maxed out,
it's ok that i have to wait till better hardware and that step by step we will get more eye candy. But with a good pc (very good pc) it should be
playable with at least better quality than fs9 right now on current rigs.
Seriously, just tell me, in what way is fsx better than fs9 right now? I just believe that it will only be better in maybe 2 years from now, just
because then we might have Cray power on our desktops.

Everyone will have FSX sooner or later. Didn't everyone say that they weren't upgrading from FS2002 to FS9 when it came out? Looks to
me like everyone that said that ended up buying it anyways despite their vow not to. But hey, I could be completely wrong.

It's not worth buying it on ebay. I got fsX last week (because BestBuy started selling early near me) but the graphics are awesome. It's
really slow if you have a bad graphics card though.
