Demo screenshots - alphaone - 10-08-2006

Here's a few I took just exploring.

(I found the special edition demo cars, mentioned in the dev's blog, driving around with only the chassis!)

Trees!

Pretty water...

Re: Demo screenshots - Airliner - 10-08-2006

Love the tree shot!

Hey Alphaone, could you do me a HUGE favor? First, are the flights still being saved in a folder under MyDocuments? If so, could you
open up one of the .FLT files in wordpad or notepad and copy/paste a section of it and PM it to me through here? I'm at work and want to
see if the format is the same as FS9. Can't wait to get home and see if the demo is finished downloading. Stupid Gamespot! I signed
up for a one month deal, just to get the highspeed download and the thing was downloading at a blazing 30KB/Sec! DOH!

Thanks!

Re: Demo screenshots - alphaone - 10-08-2006

More screenies coming in a bit but I just noticed something really cool I think. I was flying around in the beaver and I was just looking around.
Then I started looking at the guy in the cockpit, and I thought I saw him blink. So I kept looking and he blinked again! Then I moved the throttle and
he moved the throttle with his hand. Same thing with the stick. Even though it's just a little thing I'm very happy to see it.

edit: here are some more screenshots:

The CRJ is definately a work in progress.

This seems backwards (I have full flaps selected in the picture). I think should be the other way around (the flap markings).

Very good looking water. Running smooth at 29fps (locked).

Look at the reflections in the windows.

But still, even just looking out at the ocean in fs9 caused quite a bit of slowdown with my 'upgraded' water. And it looked nowhere near as good as this.

(FS9)

I hear ya - just bustin' ya. Smile

WHOA! That last image just loaded (lovely firewall at work slows everything to a crawl! I tried to download the demo on this machine and
it estimated 20 hours!).

NICE textures! Well, looks like they are nailing it in terms of the environment. I can't wait to hear the ATC that you mentioned. My big thing
is the gated airports - want to see those jetways rolling!

Try fileplanet or fileshack. Should be faster than gamespot (I assume that's where you're trying to get it from).

You will be disappointed by the demo then because ATC is pretty much the same and there are st. martin doesn't have any jetways (at least not in the
fsx version, in real life it does in the new terminal but the new terminal isn't finished yet so i guess that's why it isn't in there.)

Re: Demo screenshots - Airliner - 10-08-2006

Gamespot is what I used at home, before leaving for work. It estimated 6 hours at 30kb/sec. That royally ticked me off because I shelled
out the $5.95 membership to bypass to the highspeed downloads. Anyway, it should have finished long before now. The one at work
WILL be slower because of the firewall. I MIGHT just burn a cd and bring it in tomorrow night. (hehe) Just impatient, I guess. I'll
probably have all my FS Airline related questions answered 10 minutes after installing the demo at home. The rest is just usual FS stuff.

Re: Demo screenshots - runibl - 10-08-2006

I just past the halfway mark in downloading the demo. Stable at 41.5kb/sec.

alphaone, what system do you have? CPU, Ram, Graphic card....

Re: Demo screenshots - andy14 - 10-08-2006

I'm downloading now

Re: Demo screenshots - Airliner - 10-08-2006

By the way Andy, I was so inspired by your avatar, I went and found the full-size image and it's now my desktop wallpaper! Smile Cool image.

Some of the other airports, though, looked ridiculous. They seriously looked waaaay out of proportion - like 10 stories high or so! I don't
know of many airports, the roof of which is higher than 3-4 747's stacked! We'll see.

Re: Demo screenshots - xhado13 - 10-08-2006

The plane is from FS2004, but it did NOT work well with the demo, it was horrible I dont suggest doing it, you will get several messages
about the pop up and such
