FSX formats - Airliner - 27-05-2006

This is probably waaaay too premature but, I figured I'd ask anyway.

Has anyone heard anything regarding how things like AI traffic will be managed in FSX? Meaning, will TTools and AFCAD still apply or
has the system been completely revamped? I'm just curious because the software that I'm working on generates files that work directly
with the current traffic tools .txt files and also accesses the saved flights files generated by FS9. If I can get off my butt and get cranking, I
could have everything ready to around the time of the FSX release. But, if they go and change the format again, I'll kick myself for wasting
my time.

Just curious is anyone has heard anything on that front. Thanks!

Re: FSX formats - alphaone - 27-05-2006

I don't think anyone can answer that right now, sorry.

Re: FSX formats - Airliner - 27-05-2006

I didn't think so either. I remember reading somewhere that Microsoft tends to completely re-write everything every 3 versions or
something. FS2002 and 2004 can utilize the same aircraft/scenery etc, as well as traffic files so I wondered if that was going to carry
through to FSX as well. They'll probably have to screw with it in order to stimulate a bunch of new payware add-ons to put us all in debt. Smile

If things are too different from FS9 to FSX, it will keep me from buying.

Re: FSX formats - timcclayton - 31-05-2006

I agree wirth Poden. I have spent hundreds of pounds on payware add-ons and downloaded and installed god knows how many gigabytes of freeware add-ons.
If they don't work with FSX I won't be buying it for years yet. Unless FSX is REALLY special - and it doesn't look it so far.
