Does the Lukla airport taxes come with a parachute in case your plane does not gain enough speed for take off? Help
Nope, but you get a discount on the life insurances they sell locally lol

Btw, I just submerged myself into the flight level regulation thinggy. GIVEN I should ever fully understand this issue,we will have to change some routeplans for the worldtour.

Example: What if I fly in the south of Germany in the german airspace that is controlled by Swisscontrol (like Friedrichshafen)but with a course (north-easterly) that will keep me in Germany. So for Swisscontrol I am flying a northerly course = even levels, but for German airspace that would be easterly = odd. Swiss allowing all levels would mean that I would file the flightplan for odd numbers ?!

Answer (really straigthforward): In Switzerland the SOUTH-EAST/ODD / NORTH-WEST/EVEN regulation is used.

Flights to North-West directions (270°-089°) have to fly on an even flight level.

Flights to South-East directions (090°-269°) have to fly on an odd flight level.

Odd/Even Rule for the Upper-Airways

Direction North-West - EVENAirway from to
UG434 LASUN LFEE
UL613 LIPP LFEE
UL856 EDMM LFEE
UN176 LASUN LFEE
UN851 LIMM EDFF
UN871 LFMM KUDES - FL change to EDMM
UP131 LIPP TRA
UT10 LASUN LFEE
UZ613 NEGRA HOC
UZ651 LIMM KUDES
Z51 RESIA KELIP

Direction South-East - ODDAirway from to
UN850 EDFF LIMM
UN869 EDFF LFMM
UN871 KUDES EDMM
UP131 TRA LIPP
UZ669 TRA MILPA
UZ670 TRA AKASU
Z50 GERSA RESIA

I need to rush to the pharmacy to stash up on aspirins and tylenols before I go any further lol

Regards
Carsten

Hmmm.... Wonder

Re: FsP World Tour - Season #2 - FsP Dennis - 14-12-2006

It will be funny to takeoff from Lukla with a jet! Do not change that!

Well: I just happen to have acquired a new collection of airline disaster videos which include a variety of Jets valiantly attempting to hurtle
themselves off the side of a mountain.

FYI: my top speed with a commercial jet (A320) at the end of the RW was approx. 65 knots.

Maybe it would be wise to stop of for a nice Chicken Vindaloo on the way to Chiang Rai after all! Wink

And BTW: I have changed parts of the route so often that other "über-challenges" may still exist. Feedback (as always) is welcome!

Re: FsP World Tour - Season #2 - HB-100 - 14-12-2006

It's indeed funny. I did it all the time with my A320. I thought DBE did that JET for the next route by intend. At least I read that and when I
saw that airportscreenshot from eazy I thought you wanted us to do cliff starts.

That's why I tried to land with the A320 all the time!!! Because somehow I need to bring the Jet up there first for that... But I saw that this is
impossible. Hmm maybe with the learjet ...

Edit to add after I read DBE's post, Yup you will not build enough speed to stay in the air. You need to put down the nose. That worked for me with the standard scenery. I believe I made it to 80 or 90knt there

Brave man!

I didn't even think of landing there with my A320.

Kinda figured that I would work that out once I had managed to take off again.....

Maybe not.. Wink

Re: FsP World Tour - Season #2 - Ceemosp - 14-12-2006

Hmmm...does anyone know if there is an AN72/74 available.......

Re: FsP World Tour - Season #2 - Joeflyer - 15-12-2006

I just tried several attempts to take off out of Lukla with a Lear 60...ain't gonna happen....poor flight dynamics. Tried with a Captain Sim
727-100 with 20 deg. flaps and blasted off like a rocket. I'm using the payware scenery at thatSmile

Re: FsP World Tour - Season #2 - Rex Dart - 15-12-2006

I'm hoping to take part in this, as it sounds like a blast. I've tried the first leg and did not save the first try. I'm going to have enough trouble
without the burden of -1100 points. Note to self: make sure the joystick is working fully BEFORE starting a long flight, and make sure that
the plane has enough fuel to make it. I finally piled it in with 4 minutes of fuel after a couple of go arounds... FSP has made me a much
better pilot, but I still suck.

I'm also trying to get FSinn running. Sadly, I'll find myself moving over the next two weeks, so even if I get everythig running, I'll still be a
little spotty at first.

Be on the lookout for me, I'll be the one upside down and on fire...

Re: FsP World Tour - Season #2 - DSW334 - 15-12-2006

No Problem Rex.. On the second leg of the tour I overshoot the runway as there was a passenger boucing on the door yelling that we
didn't have enough kerosine to make it. So I forgot to do the reverse thrusters which I only noticed almost at the end of the runway.. I'm stupid

So.. No matter how bad you are, there are always people that are doing even worse.. And just remember. It's for fun. Not for money..
