Taken the words right out of my mouth. Its true, if you want to get best results with FSX, then you will need DX10 and Windows Vista.

So I'm just gonna be patient on this one ... still cant wait to get my copy of FSX however... due on Thursday Applause

Totally agree with the vista / dx10 remarks. Just run "DirectX 10" through google and sooner or later you'll find the concept image from FSX that they
have lined up. Personally I think Microsoft are being a little too optimistic, but it gives you a rough idea of what it will look like Smile

Re: FsX Deluxe - screenies - highlander - 09-10-2006

I built my system myself; if you're confident enough about system building, you can buy parts for and then build a complete system for a lot less than
the likes of Dell would sell it for.

Total, including delivery and tax at 17.5%, was £310 UKP - that's about $550 USD. Had it built by the end of that afternoon.

I'm told that the Intel Core Duo machines offer better value for money at the moment, but I've never seen one, so I can't comment. Happy enough with
what I've got, though when DirectX 10 cards start shipping, I'm going to be buying one. The X800 PRO isn't bang up-to-date, but it's a nice enough
card; performs very nicely.

Re: FsX Deluxe - screenies - Navymmw - 09-10-2006

O.k. I couple of ?'s to the owners of FSX delux, how are FPS in VC compared to FS2004? Howe are FPS in general compared to FSX?
How are the active gates, pushback, baggege carts, and fuel trucks? Also how would you rate it out of 10?

Also if anyone has anytime can someone please make a FSX video?

Quote:By the way - I bought this copy hours ago from BestBuy (legally, I hate piracy). But now I'm reading that the release date is the 17th (I've been
kinda out of the loop lately; sorry) - does anyone know what is up with this?

maybe stores were buying them to stock up on them for the release date and weren't supposed to sell them yet??

i looked at the best buy site and it didn't have it on the new releases or coming soon or anything.. me confused Huh

Re: FsX Deluxe - screenies - crowebird - 09-10-2006

I honestly think ill hold off getting FSX all thogether until Vista, DX10, my and my new DX10 graphics card and possibly and new dual core processor,
concidering the shots from FSX dont look better than my FS9 as of now, and seeing the FPS sux in FSX, I prefer to stick with my working, money
invested copy of FS9 Smile

Re: FsX Deluxe - screenies - American Jet - 09-10-2006

Lol, If my 128mb graphics card doesnt do it, then a 256mb brand new will do it. It was on sale BIG time in Best Buy for $100.00 and now it
went back to regular at 129.99. There was this 512mb at $150, regular was $202.99 That was about $50.00 discount, unfortunatly I didnt
look at the catalog.

Re: FsX Deluxe - screenies - SWVA5630 - 11-10-2006

you're gonna need a 512mb card or better to run this on the current system. I just ordered a new 512 mb card off of http://www.pricewatch.com

Whoa! Nice Screenshots!

It seems that Microsoft was paid off by AVI and Nvidia to make it eat up your resources like that... Make everyone go out and buy a new
top-of-the-line graphics card...

Re: FsX Deluxe - screenies - American Jet - 11-10-2006

Lol My NVidia 128Mb looks almost the same as that ROFL!!!
Hey how did Southwest get their aircraft working with FsX, AvA still working on it, did anybody hear about Vatsim yet with FsX?

Re: FsX Deluxe - screenies - SWVA5630 - 14-10-2006

yeah? Does your Nvidia 128mb vid card get 20FPS in the middle of the city? They didn't get the aircraft working, I imported my FIFTY NORTH 737's and
the aircraft work but not the panel I was using. Plus, since they are FS9 aircraft, the gates won't come to them.

Agreed! I was considering getting an AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 for my socket 939 board, and then an ATI x1900 but, I'm going to wait for Vista
and DX10. I've heard that some DX10 video cards will start showing up around November. Then again, MS will have to shake all the
bugs out of Vista so, I might be waiting about a year to do any serious upgrades.

Re: FsX Deluxe - screenies - SWVA5630 - 15-10-2006

the only thing I really upgraded was my vid card which was $130 and I need to get a new sound card because this one cannot handle the FSX sounds.
