Testing RefreshAirportDatabasev4.exe

You should have FsPassengersP3D installed and Prepar3D v2.5 or v3 (for test on Prepar3D v4 see below)

1-Download http://www.fspassengers.com/RefreshAirportDatabasev4.zip
2-Unzip in C:\Users\Public\Documents\FsPassengersP3D\Utilities\  (Next to "AircraftBrowserP3D.exe")
3-Launch RefreshAirportDatabasev4.exe
4-Dont mind the warning about "missing FsPassengersP3D v4, click "yes"
5-Report if working or Post the log if error(click Open log button)

If you want to test also on Prepar3D v4 (as in the final version)

1-go to "C:\Users\Public\Documents\FsPassengersP3D\Bin"
2-Copy the file "Prepar3DPath.cfg"
3-Rename the copy "Prepar3DPathv4.cfg"
4-Open with notepad.exe and edit the path to your Prepar3Dv4 installation (in my case "P3DROOTDIR=O:\Prepar3D_v4")
5-Launch utility and report as above.

Much thanks Beer

Once completed to make a complete cleanup you can delete:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\FsPassengersP3D\Bin\Prepar3DPathv4.cfg
C:\Users\Public\Documents\FsPassengersP3D\Bin\IcaoDbFspV4.db
C:\Users\Public\Documents\FsPassengersP3D\Utilities\RefreshAirportDatabasev4.exe

Much thanks, it was surprisingly long, on Pedro's computer it run in 2 seconds for 40'000 airports.
Do you have a conventional Hard drive by any chance ?

(30 seconds is still okay to scan all those files, but ... well, I love when things are optimised  Big Grin )

RE: [official] information about Prepar3D v4 (64 bits version) - Citroene - 04-05-2018

P3DV4 is installed on an Samsung Evo SSD 850

* Maybe its because there is a space between "Prepar3D" and "v4"?

** I have many sceneries installed on a separate drive.

Cheers,

The fact that there is a carriage return (the line is broken just before '\scenery') let me think that you probably hit <return>
after the line when you manually wrote the path in Prepar3DPathv4.cfg

Try to hit backspace to delete any carriage return until the cursor show just after the last letter, save and retry:
P3DROOTDIR=O:\Prepar3D v4|

And not on the line below which insert a carriage return:
P3DROOTDIR=O:\Prepar3D v4
|

In the log it should show as this: "Prepar3D scenery path found: C:\Prepar3D v4\scenery"
This file is written by the FsPassengers installer in normal condition, so no risk of such problem.

Thank for your test.

Goodmorning Daniel, do you have an ETA at this point?

RE: [official] information about Prepar3D v4 (64 bits version) - DanSteph - 08-05-2018

Latest news...

An hard one: changing ATC calling sign (In FsPassengers it take your flight number as in reality).
The possibilities to change the callsign exist with the SDK but none work since FSX, so one has to use a "different" way.

With this latest one I think I have now back all the "specials" functions of FsPassengers like this one.
The "hard work" is almost 99% done.

Dan,

that's fantastic news! Thank You so much for the update! "99%", it's getting pretty close

RE: [official] information about Prepar3D v4 (64 bits version) - Cpt Bambi - 08-05-2018

99% closer to being bugged by the air hostess, I need this mod, flying is too quiet without it.

RE: [official] information about Prepar3D v4 (64 bits version) - Josh Williams - 09-05-2018

99% closer to me shoveling money out my pocket. Great News Dan keep up the marvelous work

99% of all special functions... Wink
I can do yet a complete FsPassengers flight with all the features but the final is not close to release.

Now I'm working on several internal improvement, something that will
improve the robustness and simplicity for future update. You'll not "see" the result
but it will pay on the long term and it should be done.

After that I'll rework several dialogs, add some "simple" features and visual improvement (for the first release, more to come in future update).
Then rework all the utilities for x64.
Then rework the installer..
The docs & texts.
The translations.
Sounds & musics
Upload and fix the beta test website (with forums dedicated to bug report with tags etc)
"Hire" beta testers
Beta test
Bug solving session
Rework the website for the release
Release...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keyGFPbyqi8

Anyway I work day and night even the week-end without stop.
One step after another....
