Re: Cessna 208b Grand Caravan - unflyable? - jboweruk - 20-07-2005 Okay, I've done an updated .ini file for the Caravan. It works okay on takeoff, but my foot hurt too much for any more than that people sorry. What I need now is for someone to help me try it out, Felix you were the main one who posted the problem, could you test her for me pls? If you will let me know and I'll pm you my e-mail addy. Then you can e-mail me yours and I'll send you the file to test for me. Brad, as the moderator if this is not acceptable please let me know and we'll work out another way. Post Edited ( 07-20-05 21:50 ) Re: Cessna 208b Grand Caravan - unflyable? - Felix - 20-07-2005 Hi, I've just done my first serious flight with the 'Van with the CG-adjustments I found out and what should I say? I like it! Made my smoothest landing since using FSP (-34ft/min) and... oh, boy - I better stop praising myself ;-) Yeah the Payload file, of course I'll test it for you! I PM you right now. Ah, and John, get well :-) Greetings Felix Re: Cessna 208b Grand Caravan - unflyable? - Felix - 22-07-2005 Hi, I'm sorry that I couldn't test the payload-file yesterday, since yesterday afternoon until today I was not at home. But I just made a small test-flight and it seems to me, that the problem is not the payload-file (it still takes off well only when CG-Arrow is 4 dashes to the right) but the CG of that aircraft itself. I don't know, where this CG is declared (aircraft.cfg?) but I will try and look after this, maybe I find something out. John, if you want to, you surely can send me other versions of your payload-file, I will test them of course! Greetings, Felix Re: Cessna 208b Grand Caravan - unflyable? - jboweruk - 22-07-2005 Thanks Felix, If you look at the Van you may well be right about the CofG on it. All three wheels are a long way forward, so it may just be we need to monitor carefully how we load it, in which case Dan probably got it right after all and it's nothing to do with the payload model, more to do with the aircraft designers. Thanks for looking anyhow, but I do agree, it still seems on that plane we have to get the arrow to the forward of centre. Re: Cessna 208b Grand Caravan - unflyable? - Felix - 25-07-2005 Hey, John, I think, I'll quit my work on the Van from now. I tried modifying the aircraft.cfg but it's too hard finding a good value for these many numbers. I'm still fine with this 4-dashes-right-setting and just bought a cheap Learjet - hope, it will do better than the Van :-) I thank you very much for your co-working and I hope, that no more of your pilots is gonna die ;-) Have a nice week, Felix P.S.: If you schould find something good out about the Van, feel free to contact me. Re: Cessna 208b Grand Caravan - unflyable? - jboweruk - 26-07-2005 Okay mate, not lost any more, trouble is now I just can't seem to keep my points ![]() Couple of times the last 2 days I been hit with "pax were angry because you didn't land at the correct airport and didn't declare an emergency...." which is a bit off since I landed where I took off from and the pax knew that was the plan...... |
