I'm working since month on the upcoming FsPassengersX for "Flight Simulator X" it will have new features and reworked stuff. your old database will be compatible mean you'll be able to continue your career on FsPX. FsPX is due before christmas but a precise date is impossible to to say yet. (dont's ask please ![]() This thread is a sort of "blog" where I post some latest news about devellopment and new feature added. Most Important feature you missed: (if you didn't read old thread) In the payload dialog You can now set a type of flight, "normal" as usual, "flight tour" with income based on flight time and where you can land on same airport and "aerobatic" where you must shake you passengers to get points. Warning some screenshot may differ from final version (I preffer working on FsPassengers than updating the screenshots ![]() http://www.dansteph.com/FsxEffect.wmv <-- Video of DCA effect New effects, failures, tank leak and dangerous area will have visual effects (DCA explosion smoke and sound) ![]() Payload dialog give access to even more option, flight type, aircraft & flight setting ![]() And more dialog, here "flight & aicraft setting" on payload dialog: ![]() Belt button now command FsP's belt status (and FsP can command this button (work only on aircraft that use the new FsX "belt" variable) ![]() More images in report and dialog, you can now add flight report banner (with a simple browse to jpg button) pilot and company logo will also work with "browse button" (instead of manually copying image) and last aircraft report will show FsX aircraft thumbnail: Aircraft detail: ![]() Report with company banner: ![]() Belly landing fully functionnal, FsX always send crash splash screen and flight end, in a FsPX flight you can make a complete one until stop and you will be rewarded if you perform well. ![]() Tires blowing in case of very hard landing or in case of inflate failure... ![]() New mini report now fully compatible (no aliasing problem or trouble on some graphic card) and with transparency: ![]() Optionnaly mini report now include command button (food drink, belt etc etc) the first click on emergency button open the cover, the second click trigger the emergency. (declare mayday) ![]() A new stunning feature: restore last flight's location, with company in economic mode FsPX will record your aircraft's location and state when you buy your aircraft and at each end of flight. You will be able to continue your flight from last location of each aircraft without managing dozen flight save. FsP take care of that. Restore is simple and optionnal, from the fligth menu select the restore dialog: ![]() Then select an aircraft and click ok, once restored select "start flight" from menu: ![]() New utility menu with external utility available with one click: ![]() New map, 1000x655 size, optional lon/lat grid, can show actual aicraft location or one aircraft's location. ![]() Advice After loading your aircraft in aerobatic mode. ![]() New utility to record you own voicepack, filters, sound effect, belt sound, background sound its a "all in one" you just need a mic: ![]() New Utility to localise FsP: (great gain of time for me, will be available for users) ![]() Happy flying ! I think. The question is : WHEN? I find myself checking this post DAYLY for the ready signal from Dan! However we all understand that the wait is for the better since we all want the best FsP Dan can give birth to. Hey Dan.. I think you never answered about the posibility of adding the option of coming back to ramp before takeoff due to a malfunction being detected. BTW.. Anything in mind for Orbiter? I can't be much precise sorry... Predicting a release date is always tricky, for FsPX it become impossible due to all "unique feature" it include. Still I'm 100% sure it will be ready for christmas... testers can already "play" with it almost all features work as they should. Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and Blog ! - DanSteph - 14-10-2008 If we compare with the rest of things displayed, some polygon with an alpha texture aren't that big. So I would say negligible at first. Now there is sound, texture loading, display, that's fsx job, You can try to set the FsX failure "engine on fire" you'll an idea, this is imho the most consuming effect. In anyway you can disable them by options in FsPX. Dan Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and Blog ! - m0thm - 14-10-2008 So far FSPx has maybe taken 1fps off my usual in FSX even with the great new effects and sounds having said that im running a reasonable machine (athlon 64x2 5600 4gbRam 512mb Nivda 7300) for the extra immersion FSPx adds to the FSX experience i think a few FPS is a worth while price ![]() Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and Blog ! - Flying Monkey - 14-10-2008 I second that, I haven't felt a FPS loss with FsPX, while I can't say that about ASX or Radar Contact, so FsPX is definitely going to be always on for me ![]() Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and Blog ! - DanSteph - 15-10-2008 I'm fond of optimisation... ![]() It doesn't help at all for dev time but at least once finished it doesn't slow down your computer (or invade your HD).
